The first brief of the year made us experts in SPAM. The brief looked at marketing such historic foodstuff and brand to a younger target audience, GEN Z. This required a deep understanding in the habits of this consumers, from their values and habits, to the social media platforms they use in order to target them accordingly.

We had to create a piece of advertising in any medium/format and for a platform of our choice, all backed up by our research in the matter. Inspired by the tasks we had on creating ads for Instagram as well as the first steps we had in creating simple animations, I chose to create a video/animation for an Instagram Reel based on the song (and its music video) "Technologic" by Daft Punk. I wrote a new set of lyrics based on how to cut/cook/prepare SPAM -hoping to inspire students to try it out- following the same structure and patterns as the original while trying to maintain the rhymes, that I then had to "sing" and record (with professional help).
